Winnaars via Twitter bekend<br />
Ank Bijleveld-Schouten, staatssecretaris van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties, zal tijdens een inspirerende lunchbijeenkomst voor de tweede keer de e-Participatie Award uitreiken. Eén aan het beste eParticipatie initiatief uit de samenleving en één aan het beste eParticipatie-initiatief van een overheid. De eParticipatie Award 2009 is een erkenning voor de getoonde inzet van burgers en overheden om digitale middelen voor burgerbetrokkenheid te gebruiken.<br /><br />
De winnaars zullen tijdens de bijeenkomst ook via Twitter bekend gemaakt worden @Burgerlink #ePAW09.<br /><br />
Na de uitreiking van de eParticipatie Award gaan de aanwezigen met iemand van de Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst en een opiniemaker in debat over hoe ambtenaren omgaan met web 2.0. &quot;No Numbers&quot; is a playful response to Foxx&#39;s seminal 1980 electronic music work, Mr No. The music is transformed into a sequence of numbers -- digital samples -- which the viewer is encouraged to copy down using the paper and pencils provided.<br /><br />
At a rate of one number per second it would take 4 weeks to transcribe the original 3&#39;18&quot; work in CD quality. The futility of this task reflects the artist&#39;s interest in what we may be compelled to do but that which is ultimately, humanly, impossible.<br /><br />
The reduction to a slow, seemingly random series of numbers highlights the essentially approximate nature of digital sampling. This links to the artist&#39;s interest in exploring the aesthetic and cultural questions suggested by the analogue-digital distinction.<br /><br />
The title of the piece suggests remix and reappropriation, but also codes for a putative request from the copyright holder of the original work. Downloading music, we&#39;re told, is theft. Four weeks of laborious, transcription seems more like pilgrimage.&quot;<br />

    <title>Nov 25, 2009: Oxford Geek Night #15 at Jericho Tavern</title>
    <description><![CDATA[The geek nights are a way for local web developers, designers, programmers, neophiles or geeks of any other stripe to get together, chat, drink and listen to talks on new technologies and innovations.<br /><br />
Each OGN consists of two keynote talks of 15 minutes each. There are also frenetic bursts of socialising, sometimes adverts for other local groups, but always interspersed with two sets of 5-minute-long microslot sessions.<br /><br />

These are five-minute &quot;lightning&quot; talks that anyone can volunteer for. They&#39;re easy to do: pick something that excites you, or a project you&#39;ve worked on that you think might be of interest; then talk to a friendly audience for just five minutes with a handful of slides.
